How to Reach

By Air: Pakyong Airport is the only airport in Sikkim for domestic flights. Nearest international airport is Bagdogra Airport, 121 km from Gangtok.

By Train: Sikkim lacks railway tracks within its state borders. Nearest station is New Jalpaiguri Railway Station, 118 km from Gangtok.

By Road: Tourists can reach Sikkim via National Highway 10, which connects Siliguri to Gangtok in 4-5 hours of journey.


Visa And Formalities

Inner Line Permit (ILP): Foreign nationals and Indian citizens outside Sikkim need an Inner Line Permit (ILP) to enter Sikkim. ILPs can be obtained online or in person at designated counters in entry points like Rangpo, Melli, and Pakyong.

Required Documents: Applicants need to provide valid ID proof, passport-sized photos, and a travel itinerary for the ILP application. Foreign tourists may need additional documentation, such as passports and visas per Indian immigration regulations.

Duration and Renewal: ILPs are valid for 15 to 30 days. Extensions can be obtained by providing valid reasons to the authorities.

Restricted Areas: Some areas in Sikkim may have restricted access for tourists, requiring special permits from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
