The flight to Paro is one of the amazing experiences while traveling to Bhutan. You will get a chance to see panoramic views of the Himalayas and other famous peaks while landing at the airport. The experience of landing at Paro Airport is one of its kind as you will have a glimpse of Bhutanese foothills, few steep turns to land at this amazing and small airport in Bhutan.
On Arrival, you will be received by an expert Bhutanese guide. Meet and greet followed by a drive to Thimphu. As reach check into the hotel. In the evening, free time to explore the Thimphu town. Overnight stay at Thimphu.
After breakfast, Visit the Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Statue). Located at a short drive from Thimphu City Centre, Kuenselphodrang offers a good overview of the Thimphu valley. The largest statue of Buddha in the country sits here which houses over one hundred thousand smaller Buddha statues. Then visit the National Memorial Chorten built in the memory of the Third King of Bhutan. Finally visit the Folk Heritage Museum. Afternoon visit Sangaygang View Point, Changangkha Monastery and the Takin Preserve Centre. Takin is the national animal of Bhutan. In the evening visit Tashichho Dzong (Fortress of the Glorious Religion). After sightseeing return back to the hotel and overnight stay in Thimphu.
After breakfast, drive to Punakha (4298 ft.), on the way Stop at Dochu-La-Pass (3150 Mts.). To view the higher Himalayas. Arrival at Punakha check in at hotel. After noon visit Punakha Dzong - built in 1637 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. For many years until the time of the second king, it served as the seat of the Government. The Dzong was named Druk Pungthang Dechen Phodrang (Palace of Great Happiness). Punakha is still the winter residence of Je-Khenpo and King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck convened the first National Assembly here in 1952. After that take a short and easy hike to visit the Chhimi Lhakhang - The Temple, also known as “The Temple of Fertility” was built by Lama Drukpa Kuenley, “The Devine Mad Man’. And also visit Punakha Suspension Bridge. Evening free for leisure. Overnight stay at Punakha.
After breakfast drive to Gangtey valley. Its located in the beautiful, broad and U shaped glacial valley of Phobjika. After lunch we will hike to nature trails .From the small hilltop overlooking Gangtey Goemba, head downhill through flower meadows to Semchubara village and from here through beautiful forests and into the open valley. After passing a chorten and Khewa Lhakhang, the trail ends at the local community school; this involves a 30 minute walk up to the start of town. Black Necked Crane Information Centre Situated on the edge of the forest and wetland along the main road of Phobjikha valley, the black-necked crane information Centre has an observation room equipped with high power telescope and spotting scopes for catching the best view of the cranes. The centre also offers display information that outline the natural and cultural history of the area. There is a small gift shop, which sells handicrafts produced by the local people. Overnight stay at Punakha.
After breakfast, check out from hotel and transfer to Paro via Dochu La Pass, covering Paro Chuu river valley and Wang Chhu river valley. On the way, you will be visiting Simtokha Dzong, an old fortress which is now a school for Dzongkha language. Once you reach Paro, you will be checked into a hotel. After freshen up proceed to Paro local sightseeing point, Ta Dzong, Rinpung Dzong, Tamchog lhakhang. After sightseeing back to the hotel. Evening is for leisure. Overnight stay at a hotel in Paro.
Morning after breakfast will drive to Taktsang Lhakhang is Bhutan’s most iconic landmark and religious site. The name Taktsang translates to “The Tiger’s Nest”. This temple is one of the most holy sites in the kingdom and clings impossibly to a sheer cliff face 900 hundred meters above the Paro Valley. It was first built in 1692 at a cave where Guru Rimpoche meditated in the 7th century A.D. Legend states that Guru Rimpoche flew to the site atop the back of a tigress and meditated in the cave for 3 years, 3 months, 3 days and 3 hours in order to subdue evil demons residing within it. The cave has been considered a sacred site ever since and many famous saints have travelled to meditate in it Taktsang. Overnight stay at hotel in Paro.
Morning after breakfast check out from the hotel and transfer to Airport as reach we will drop you to Airport.
